Train crash in Quebec-It is recorded as the 4th deadliest train crash in Canadian history. On July 6th, 2013, an unattended 74 car freight train carrying crude oil derailed in the town of Lac-Megantic located in the province of Quebec. The derailment resulted in fires and explosions on several of the cars, killing 47 and destroying roughly half of the down town area.

 
Birth of Royal baby-The royal baby named George was born at 4.24pm at St Mary's hospital in London. The announcement of his birth was made just over four hours later. Duke of Cambridge was present to make sure it was a healthy baby. The baby weighed in at 8lb 6oz according to Kensington Palace.


Nelson Mandela’s death-Nelson Mandela died at the age of 95. He was an anti-apartheid icon who became the first president of a country that is democratic, South Africa. He passed away December 5, 2013 at his home in Johannesburg after a prolonged lung infection that was said to have started when he was in prison.

 
Rob ford causes silence among city leaders- Ever since Mayor Rob Ford admitted to smoking crack and drinking and driving, offering drug dealers money and a car in exchange for an embarrassing video, since he suggested a Star reporter was a pedophile and the chief of police had a political grudge against him, there has been a conspicuous silence among Toronto’s leaders.

 
Boston marathon-Two bombs exploded in the streets near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing at least three people and injuring more than 140 people. The two blasts took place about 10 seconds and about 100 yards apart, knocking spectators and at least one runner off their feet, shattering windows and sending dense clouds of smoke rising over the street. Blood stained the pavement, and huge pieces were missing from window panes as high as three stories. Barack Obama vowed that those responsible will "feel the full weight of justice."
